ULTIMATE
Ultimate level Digimon Digivolve from Champion Digimon. For one of the original eight DigiDestined's Digimon to attain the Ultimate level, they require a Digivice, along with a Tag and Crest. When one of the DigiDestined's Ultimate level Digimon's energy expires, they would first revert to their In-Training stage, but later, when they gained more control over the process, would only revert to Rookie. Later, a new process of achieving the Ultimate level was uncovered – DNA Digivolving. This process allowed two Digimon to physically combine into a new Digimon of the Ultimate level. At first, after DNA Digivolving, Veemon, Wormmon, Hawkmon and Armadillomon would revert all the way down to the Baby level, while the more-experienced Patamon and Gatomon would revert to Tokomon and Salamon. After they received a power boost from Azulongmon’s Digi-Core, courtesy of Gennai, Veemon, Wormmon, Hawkmon, Armadillomon and Patamon would only revert to Rookie, and Gatomon would only revert to Champion.
The original eight DigiDestined Digimon lost the ability to Digivolve to Ultimate (and beyond) when the DigiDestined were forced to give up their Crest power to shield the DigiWorld from evil. However, other power sources could give them the strength to reach the Ultimate level - such as the power of Azulongmon's Digi-Core, which may well have sustained them indefinitely, except they once again had to sacrifice the power to energise Imperialdramon. However, it is evident that by the time of Diaboromon's return, three months after the defeat of MaloMyotismon, that the Digimon had regained their power to Digivolve to Ultimate and beyond, as Gatomon was able to become Angewomon, and Agumon and Gabumon could form Omnimon, with no apparent outside energy source. It is theorised that when Oikawa became the protective force of the DigiWorld, the former protective force, the kids' Crest power, returned to them, which would indeed return the Digimon's Digivolving power.

The first Ultimate Digimon to appear is Andromon in “Kabuterimon’s Electro Shocker.” The first DigiDestined Ultimate Digimon is SkullGreymon in “The Arrival of SkullGreymon.” The first NATURAL DigiDestined Ultimate Digimon is MetalGreymon in “The Earthquake of Metal Greymon.”

UNIMON
UnimonGroup: Mythical Animal - Level: Champion - Type: Vaccine - Attack Techniques: Aerial Attack, Sacred Blast/Horn Blaster
Unimon is a powerful Digimon who lives on Infinity Mountain. He was first encountered by Joe, but at the time, he was infected by one of Devimon's Black Gears. The DigiDestined had arrived at the base of the mountain the previous day, at night, Joe decided that he would prove to the others that he was not a coward by climbing the mountain first. Accompanied by Gomamon, he soon began to tire, and then he and Gomamon watched as Unimon landed and drank from a pond. Then, a Black Gear appeared, and quickly infected Unimon, who turned on Joe and Gomamon. Gomamon Digivolved into Ikkakumon for the first time, and used his Harpoon Torpedo attack to destroy the gear and free Unimon from its influence.
After the DigiWorld was conquered by the Dark Masters and reformatted into Spiral Mountain, Unimon was one of the last few Digimon recruited by Mimi to be a part of her small army. Unimon accompanied her and the other Digimon she had gathered together to the peak of Spiral Mountain, where he aided in the battle with Piedmon's Vilemon horde.
Four years later, when the Digimon Emperor was beginning his takeover of the DigiWorld, a Unimon – possible the same one, possibly not – was seen being captured by Dark Ring. This Unimon then turned on Gatomon and attacked her, but she was saved when her tail ring deflect his blast. He then tried to stomp on her, and caught her tail ring, yanking it off – the ring would remain lost for many months to come.

Much later, when wild Digimon were appearing all over the Earth, the Russian DigiDestined girl, Anna, was shown to have a Unimon for a partner. She and her Unimon, along with Sonya and her Snimon and Yuri and his Kuwagamon, teamed up with Sora, Yolei and their Digimon to defend Moscow from swarms of Flymon. Sonya’s Unimon then reappeared during the final battle with MaloMyotismon.

A Unimon appears in "Ikkakumon's Harpoon Torpedo." His voice is supplied by Doug Erholtz.
Name: From the word "Unicorn," a horse-like creature bearing a horn on it's head from myth.

UPAMON
UpamonGroup: Micro – Level: In-Training – Attack Technique: Shock Shout
Upamon is the In-Training form of Armadillomon, the Digimon partner of Cody of the DigiDestined. A hyperactive little guy, Upamon retains the love of food that his Rookie form so often displays. Upamon first appeared when Armadillomon came to the real world for the first time along with the other new DigiDestined and their Digimon - Armadillomon automatically reverted into Upamon, and stayed that way until he and the others returned to the DigiWorld the next day, automatically Digivolving back into Armadillomon upon arrival.
Upamon displayed his impatience a few subsequent times, sneaking into the Hidas’ kitchen, as Mrs. Hida made Sushi, and getting into a panicky fit when Cody was late in arriving from Kendo practise. Davis taught him was Kendo was by whacking him with a magazine, which only made him yell and shout more.
Upamon continued to be Armadillomon's default form while on Earth, easily hidden due to his small size. While in America with the other kids, along with Willis, a DigiDestined from Colorado, Upamon Digivolved into Armadillomon, and then into Digmon to battle Antylamon, the Ultimate form of Kokomon, Willis's rogue Digimon partner, but was defeated and reverted to Armadillomon. Note that this adventure is supposed to be out of continuity.
Upamon again Digivolved in the real world when Wizardmon's ghost was causing trouble at the Odaiba TV station - he and the other Digimon didn't know that it was Wizardmon, and Digivolved to prepare for battle, but fortunately didn't have to fight. This was the first actual use of a Digivolve sequence for Upamon.
Later, when all the Armour Digimon were defeated in battle with Kimeramon, they were so badly injured that they reverted to their In-Training forms. DemiVeemon accompanied Davis on a search for the engine room, which proved to contain the Digi-Egg of Miracles – the energy it radiated transformed Upamon back into Armadillomon.
Initially, after Ankylomon and Angemon DNA Digivolved into Shakkoumon, they separated into Tsubumon and Tokomon. Both times after this, Tsubumon would always Digivolve back into Upamon and then into Armadillomon. Upamon continued to act as Armadillomon's default form on Earth, until he and the other Digimon were given power boosts from Azulongmon’s Digi-Core, courtesy of Gennai.
Three months after the defeat of MaloMyotismon, when it was discovered that Diaboromon had survived the battle with Omnimon four years beforehand, Upamn went with Cody, T.K. and Patamon to track down Kuramon that were appearing in the real world, locating one at a soccer game. When the Kuramon gathered in Tokyo Harbour, Upamon Digivolved into Armadillomon, but there was anothing he could do during the subsequent battle.
Twenty-five years into the future, Cody’s daughter has an Upamon for a partner.
Upamon first appears in
“The Digiteam Complete.” His voice is supplied by Dave Mallow.
Name: From the south central Mexican word, “upa,” which is the young form of the axolotl, a type of salamander (as in Japan, Upamon’s group is “Amphibian”).
